Friday Favorites

Hello Friends! I hope you have had a good week. It is Friday so I am here to share what I have been loving this week!

     I am loving this lemon essential oil. On Wednesday I reviewed the oil. I have been using it this last week for a LOT of different things including as a cleaning solution to kill all the bacteria in the house from my husband who is sick (even though he claims he never gets sick). I was most impressed that it took the sticky residue off of a brush that had a sticker on it.

So in love with this nail polish color this week. I am usually not a fan of nudes but something about this one has me obsessed. It is Florence by Julep. It has quite a runny formula but as long as you got the excess off the brush it was easy to apply.

I have been craving (and eating) guacamole like crazy this week. I had some Monday night at Chipotle and it was the best I had ever had. After that night it was all I could think about!

Franklin's Favorite

Franklin is loving these beef flavored Canine Carryouts that he received as a Christmas present from my grandparents. If I leave the bag out on the counter or table he will keep walking by them and trying to get to them. He has been much more excited to practice tricks now that these are in the mix of treats!

Friday Favorites

Happy December!
Welcome back to Friday Favorites. Hope you had a good week.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this week I haven't been feeling very good lately. Sadly I am not doing much better but I was still able to discover some new favorites this week.

Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer
     As I mentioned yesterday, it is peppermint season!! I am not a big coffee drinker. I go through phases where I crave it and drink it for a few days but I don't drink it daily. However, I have been craving peppermint mocha coffee and this delicious stuff is satisfying my new food kick!

Call of Duty
    I didn't think a shooting video game, or any video game would be on my favorites list. But I am really enjoying this game!  It started out as something to do with my husband that he loves.  I wasn't any good at it... I'm still not really very good. I am having fun though. We play it at night and talk with his family through Xbox live party chat. I even have been playing it on my own as practice.

Cinnamon French Toast Sticks
     My Mom told me about these little gems. I don't know if I should be thanking her or angry at her. They are so delicious. I have been eating them every day for breakfast since I purchased them. You can find them at your local Walmart in the frozen breakfast food section. They also offer original french toast sticks but I recommend you get the cinnamon if you are going to try them. One side is covered in a little cinnamon sugar mix! Sadly, these will probably be gone before the weekend is over.

Profusion Smokey Eye Palette
     I haven't really talked about makeup on the blog but I do love a good eye shadow palette. I picked up this one from Walgreens for less than $5. It is by a brand called Profusion which I had never heard of but they had a small section of their products (mostly palettes) near the holiday makeup section. I loved the colors and thought for such a cheap price I might as well give it a try.
     I have not used all of the colors yet but I already have a small handful that I love which make the palette worth the money already. Once I have had a chance to test all the colors I will post a review up on my blog!

Franklin's Favorite

Since I have only had this little guy a few weeks I am still learning his likes, dislikes, and quirks. Trust me, he is quirky, I love him and he fits in well in our family.

Rawhide Twists with Chicken
     His little nub of a tail starts wagging when he sees these little twists. He devotes an entire half hour to chewing on the stick until it is completely gone and then he sniffs around the house for a few minutes looking for more.
     Now I'll be honest, I don't know a ton about dogs. I thought this twist would take him a few days of chewing on it for a half an hour to hour. I was surprised when he devoured it so quickly. He is pretty little so I was hesitant to get him a bone, but I think I will go back and get him the mini bone version when he runs out of these.

Thanks for stopping by.
What have you been loving this week?
Any new discoveries?

Weekend Snapshots

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Are you ready for Thanksgiving?!
I am ready for Thanksgiving, looking forward to spending time with the family and eating apple pie.

In my house, we are almost ready for Christmas too! My husband has been chomping at the bit to decorate so Friday night we spent our two month anniversary out purchasing our first Christmas Tree! :)

We came home, put on Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and got to decorating! Right now it just has tinsel, candy canes, and cardinals on it. We will be adding more later.
Full disclosure - he did most of the decorating & I fell asleep during the movie. Oops.

Most of Saturday was spent cleaning up and organizing around the house, as well as walks and play time with Franklin.

Saturday night my husband and I went to a Demolition Derby with my parents, which was disappointing and all we really watched was lawn mower races.

Sunday we re-watched Mockingjay Part 1 to prepare for our tradition of watching the newest Hunger Games movie in theaters on Thanksgiving.

And Franklin received some new sweaters & a bow tie Christmas collar from his Grandma (my mom).

He is still getting used to the sweaters - that's why he looks slightly uncomfortable in the first photo.

Hope everyone has a good week and Thanksgiving!!

Meet Franklin

I have been MIA from blogging and social media the last week but I have a good reason!  Last week my husband and I made a trip to the local animal rescue to check out what they had. It was an innocent trip, just see the dogs. And then I met him...

Franklin

Look at that face?

He stole my heart.

     He is a very good pup but we have already had a roller coaster of a week with him. A few days before we met and adopted him, he had his bladder punctured while being neutered. He is getting back to normal but the medicine they had him on was affecting him a bit.
    The vet estimated he is around one year (between 9 - 14 months). He is a poodle mix, which is suppose to be easier on those of us with allergies.
    Franklin loves napping/cuddles, belly rubs and being my shadow. He dislikes other dogs and being left alone, both of which are understandable being an abandoned pup recently at a rescue facility.
     Expect to see much more of this little guy on my blog!

Weekend Snapshots

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I had a fun and relaxing weekend spent with family. I am hoping to have a day of eating and update on macros post up this week. Here is my weekend in snapshots!

{Yankee Candle Sale with Mom}

{2 Pink Sand, Apple Spice, Berrylicious, Chocolate Layer Cake, and North Pole Sample Candles  only a dollar each!}

{Berrylicious Car Freshener for Husband}

{Gym time on Saturday - Rest Day Sunday}

Hahahahaha I will always love them, but I might not always like them!:

{No snapshots - Game Night at Parent's. We grilled out, talked, laughed and played Ripple and Five Crown's}

Developer Treyarch has a good record of keeping things fresh in Call of Duty. The company started working on the franchise back in 2005. With World at War it added zombies; Black Ops went to Vietnam; Black Ops 2 traversed time and added branching narratives. For its next installment, Treyarch is, once again, trying something new.:

{New Call of Duty Game - I am sure if you have a gamer in your house this was played a lot this weekend!}

{Late Night Grocery Trip = delicious treats; I could not resist those peppermint Oreos}

{Watched the first couple of episodes of Limitless- I am quite intrigued by the plot line}

What did you do this weekend? What are your plans for this week?

Friday Favorites: E-Card Edition

What I am loving this week...

Daylight Savings- the only reason why I would live in AZ. I HATE daylight savings!:

 The fact that I didn't have to deal with the daylight savings nonsense. I am so happy I live in a state that doesn't use it. I understand at one time it served a great purpose but it is outdated.

HA! Hey, we are married or you birthed me, so get over it. For everyone else...I'm healthy its all good.:

I have been loving homemade cookies this week. My mom has officially become the cookie lady to everyone who knows her. I am not complaining.

Peanut Butter! @Katie Schmeltzer vandevoort:

I have been loving peanut butter this week. PB on toast. PB in the form of delicious cookies. PB in Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  You get the idea!

What have you been loving this week?

Weekend Snapshots

     It's Monday. Hope everyone has a productive week ahead of them. For now I am going to daydream of my lovely weekend!

     Went to Chick-fil-a with my mom for lunch. We enjoyed it but it was a bit too busy for our taste. Next time we will most likely go on a weekday, not Saturday.

New GOOSEBUMPS Movie Poster - The Stories are Alive Tagline:

     Halloween night my husband and I went to see the new Goosebumps movie. It was... interesting. I had never read the books - they weren't really my style. I was more of a Junie B Jones girl. The movie held my attention and was very fitting for Halloween night. I am shocked it's a kids movie though. Call me a chicken but I was creep-ed out by some of the 'monsters'!

      I wore Minnie Mouse ears as my 'costume'. Movie Theater lighting sucks ^

     Candy Candy Candy.  It was good but I paid for it the next morning. I don't think my body is used to so much sugar.

     That rollercoaster of a football game - Cardinals vs Browns.

Did you read Goosebumps as a kid?

Friday Favorites

     Animal Picture with Smile Quote | Smile Friday Quotes - Funny Loves Fun World:

     Welcome back! Hope everyone had a good week. Thankfully my week has gone by pretty fast. I don't have any big plans for the weekend, but I did find my camera that went MIA for awhile. So I am hoping to add more pictures into my blog posts!
     Since it's Friday I am back with another Friday Favorites post! You know the drill...

HEROES
     This show is crazy good.  It has so many levels and so many characters! It isn't one of those shows where you are confused because there is too much going on - but it always leaves you with questions and wanting more!  If you are looking for a new show to watch on Netflix,  I highly recommend this one.

 PUMPKIN
     It is that time of year!! I have been enjoying pumpkin daily this week. Mainly pumpkin bars & rolls (thanks to my Mom!) but also with a delicious Salted Caramel Pumpkin smoothie bowl topped with peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles.
(Life Lesson: you can never go wrong with sprinkles)

IBOTTA
      I recently discovered this rebate style shopping app and I love it. If you purchase items on Ibotta's list (bread, milk, eggs, etc) you can scan item's bar code and your receipt and receive money back. In just a few small grocery trips I have already earned over $6 back. Once I have earned back $10+ I can turn that money into gift cards or have it transferred to my Paypal account!  I have downloaded a few other similar apps and this one is the easiest to use.
(This is not a sponsored post and I am in no way affiliated with Ibotta.)

MAHJONG
     Game of the week. Hours of distraction. This game is the perfect pace for when you need to rest or unwind! I forgot how much I loved this game until Running with Spoons posted that she was playing it.

After a work out I'm beat but the recovery is worth it .... I still feel powered up even now. ❤:
WORKOUTS
     I haven't been to the apartment gym in ... awhile. But I have worked out multiple times this week in my living room. I looked forward to and enjoyed every single one of my workouts. They weren't easy but I feel myself getting stronger & that makes it worth it!

Side Note: Made it through a blog post without talking about the weather. Boo Ya!

Thinking out Loud: Live in the Now

26cda33794f4a4233865728a60e0ab82

     After posting this picture on my Friday Favorites post, I got to thinking about how our society loves to rush things. Christmas stuff up before Halloween happens. Valentines stuff up before Christmas happens. Easter stuff up before Valentine's Day happens. Okay, you get the point. We are always rushing from one big event to the next.

If you're always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you're in? #wisdom #affirmations:

     We are not living today. We are not enjoying all that the present has to offer. I feel like our society is always preoccupied with the future, we never enjoy the now.

     I am guilty of this too. I have mentioned multiple times on my blog how excited I am for the upcoming holidays. I am looking forward to new memories and adventures with my husband. It will be our first Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas together. But I can't keep 'waiting' for these events to get here, I need to enjoy today and the moments and memories we are making right now. It is silly to waste away today wishing for the future.

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” ~Mark Victor Hansen:
    While there is nothing wrong with being excited about future events and planning for the future (fail to plan and you plan to fail, right?), you don't want to be so caught up in the future that it is at the expense of today.

    This applies to your fitness as well. It is so easy to get caught up in your goals that you lose sight of the progress you are making. It is important to enjoy the journey. The journey is where the growth and change happens, not just physically but emotionally and mentally. Same goes for life, the journey is where you become 'you', enjoy every moment and try to be as present as possible.

     We are only given so many moments and we should do our best to enjoy every one of them.

Not the decision neither the result but the process:

Weekend Snapshots {10.11 &10.12}

     Due to my husband's work schedule our 'weekend' this week (and most weeks) is Sunday & Monday. So if I post Weekend Recaps on Tuesdays sometimes, just go with it!  I was lucky enough to get to spend the lovely weekend with my wonderful husband and family, resting, watching football (and Netflix), and eating delicious food.

I got all caught up on Baby Daddy. Of course it ended on a cliffhanger! I can't wait to watch next season.

I started Heroes. My husband and I started watching Heroes Reborn when it premiered this season but I decided I wanted to go back and watch the original to better understand the story line.

I got some treats to try! I have never had Quest bars or protein powder before so I am really looking forward to trying the chocolate chip cookie dough bar later this week. I also can't resist anything birthday cake flavored, especially if it has sprinkles!

Watched my Arizona Cardinals dominate on Sunday! Go Cards!!

I painted my nails while the hubby played video games.
I feel like I picked a very 'spring' color, but I am loving it!

I ate some delicious food! Pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting & Red Velvet Cake Batter + Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt with sprinkles and mini M&Ms.

And some not so delicious food... hour late, cold pizza. Domino's needs to step up their game.

Like all great weekends, I got to spend it with this man!!

Hope you all had a great weekend too!!
