Friday Favorites

The weeks have been flying by lately. I have been reading and doing a lot of yoga recently, as will be reflected in my favorites this week!  If you missed it, you can check out my post about TriNova's Castile Soap from earlier in the week. Hope everyone has a great weekend and without further ado, here is what I have been loving this week...

I read this e-book the other night and I really liked it. As someone who is chronically ill and spends a lot of time in bed it is nice that someone took the time to lay out a way to do yoga and receive its benefits no matter your ability or activity level. There are modifications if you can't sit up, as well. The message in the end of the book was great as well. It is currently free on amazon!

I am afraid I have developed an Etsy addiction. There are so many great and adorable things being sold on there!

Daily Walk Bible: 31 days with Jesus - I downloaded this off of Amazon for free. I believe it is still available for free. I am really enjoying it and highly recommend it. It is written in a way that is easy to understand and follow. I have experienced frustration in the past because I never fully understood what was going on. I don't have that issue with this book and I enjoy my daily reading.

Not Your Father's Ginger Ale

I am a big fan of all things ginger flavored, so I was so excited when my husband grabbed this from our local grocery store. This brand also makes a hard Root Beer as well that I am not a big fan of. I don't like the flavor of beer but I found this drink to quite tasty. It reminds me of nonalcoholic ginger beer with a beer kick at the end.

Friday Favorites #17

This week was a really chill week for me. I spent a lot of time resting and catching up on TV. I hope you all had a wonderful week. Here is what I have been loving this week...

I am pretty sure I am late to the party - but I discovered this gem this week! It taste so good. I have been eating it on rice cakes lately. I plan to try it on oatmeal soon.

When your TiVo box hits 99% it is time to take action. I watched about 2 weeks worth of Ellen this week. She is so funny! I love her attitude and message.

My sister in law Snapchat me a picture of the party cake Peeps, because everything cake flavored is the best.
I don't always eat Peeps, but when I do they must be at least 24 hours old! I like them when they start to get firm on the outside. Anyone else know what I am talking about?

Franklin's Favorite

Franklin is absolutely loving this soft bone shaped stuffed toy.
He carries it around the house with him. Uses it as a pillow when he naps. Even tried to take it on his walk with him the other day.

Friday Favorites

Hello Friends! I hope you have had a good week. It is Friday so I am here to share what I have been loving this week!

I am loving this lemon essential oil. On Wednesday I reviewed the oil. I have been using it this last week for a LOT of different things including as a cleaning solution to kill all the bacteria in the house from my husband who is sick (even though he claims he never gets sick). I was most impressed that it took the sticky residue off of a brush that had a sticker on it.

So in love with this nail polish color this week. I am usually not a fan of nudes but something about this one has me obsessed. It is Florence by Julep. It has quite a runny formula but as long as you got the excess off the brush it was easy to apply.

I have been craving (and eating) guacamole like crazy this week. I had some Monday night at Chipotle and it was the best I had ever had. After that night it was all I could think about!

Franklin's Favorite

Franklin is loving these beef flavored Canine Carryouts that he received as a Christmas present from my grandparents. If I leave the bag out on the counter or table he will keep walking by them and trying to get to them. He has been much more excited to practice tricks now that these are in the mix of treats!

Friday Favorites

Happy December!
Welcome back to Friday Favorites. Hope you had a good week.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this week I haven't been feeling very good lately. Sadly I am not doing much better but I was still able to discover some new favorites this week.

Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer
As I mentioned yesterday, it is peppermint season!! I am not a big coffee drinker. I go through phases where I crave it and drink it for a few days but I don't drink it daily. However, I have been craving peppermint mocha coffee and this delicious stuff is satisfying my new food kick!

Call of Duty
I didn't think a shooting video game, or any video game would be on my favorites list. But I am really enjoying this game!  It started out as something to do with my husband that he loves.  I wasn't any good at it... I'm still not really very good. I am having fun though. We play it at night and talk with his family through Xbox live party chat. I even have been playing it on my own as practice.

Cinnamon French Toast Sticks
My Mom told me about these little gems. I don't know if I should be thanking her or angry at her. They are so delicious. I have been eating them every day for breakfast since I purchased them. You can find them at your local Walmart in the frozen breakfast food section. They also offer original french toast sticks but I recommend you get the cinnamon if you are going to try them. One side is covered in a little cinnamon sugar mix! Sadly, these will probably be gone before the weekend is over.

Profusion Smokey Eye Palette
I haven't really talked about makeup on the blog but I do love a good eye shadow palette. I picked up this one from Walgreens for less than $5. It is by a brand called Profusion which I had never heard of but they had a small section of their products (mostly palettes) near the holiday makeup section. I loved the colors and thought for such a cheap price I might as well give it a try.
I have not used all of the colors yet but I already have a small handful that I love which make the palette worth the money already. Once I have had a chance to test all the colors I will post a review up on my blog!

Franklin's Favorite

Since I have only had this little guy a few weeks I am still learning his likes, dislikes, and quirks. Trust me, he is quirky, I love him and he fits in well in our family.

Rawhide Twists with Chicken
His little nub of a tail starts wagging when he sees these little twists. He devotes an entire half hour to chewing on the stick until it is completely gone and then he sniffs around the house for a few minutes looking for more.
Now I'll be honest, I don't know a ton about dogs. I thought this twist would take him a few days of chewing on it for a half an hour to hour. I was surprised when he devoured it so quickly. He is pretty little so I was hesitant to get him a bone, but I think I will go back and get him the mini bone version when he runs out of these.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friday Favorites: E-Card Edition

What I am loving this week...

Daylight Savings- the only reason why I would live in AZ. I HATE daylight savings!:

The fact that I didn't have to deal with the daylight savings nonsense. I am so happy I live in a state that doesn't use it. I understand at one time it served a great purpose but it is outdated.

HA! Hey, we are married or you birthed me, so get over it. For everyone else...I'm healthy its all good.:

I have been loving homemade cookies this week. My mom has officially become the cookie lady to everyone who knows her. I am not complaining.

Peanut Butter! @Katie Schmeltzer vandevoort:

I have been loving peanut butter this week. PB on toast. PB in the form of delicious cookies. PB in Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  You get the idea!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!! Hope you had a good week. This has been a really off week for me, I never knew what day it was and my chronic illnesses have been flaring up. But without further ado, this is what I have been loving this week.

Fall TV Ads Graded: Best & Worst of 2014. ------Only about three posters got an A. Most of the rest got B's and C's and about another three got a D. These range from "oh wow!! simply brilliant." to "oh no!! What were they thinking?":

GOTHAM
I am hooked. And all caught up! Its.so.good.  I stopped watching it mid season and recently re-watched all of last season on Netflix and got caught up on this season.

THE WEATHER
I feel like every other blog post I am talking about the weather. But the weather this week has been so nice. I usually post about how its triple digits and I'm sad I have to see people on social media in colder states dressed in cute fall clothes, sipping their hot seasonal drinks. However this week we had a major cool down - 82 degrees and raining most of the day. It was beautiful! Since then we have creep back up into the 90s but hey, its better than the 100+ temperatures.  I absolutely love rainy overcast days and wish I could have them 90% of the year!

OUR NEW PLATES
Cardinals Christmas plates! We instantly fell in love with them. I love anything snowflake or Cardinals. Our first holiday purchase! *smiles*

CHRISTMAS IN THE AIR
I have become one of those people.... My husband and I were walking through the seasonal section at Walmart talking about how excited we are for Christmas, what we want to do, how we are going to decorate, etc. My husband was even singing Christmas songs at one point!  How did I get here?..  I have always been a firm believer in not 'rushing' a holiday. Christmas stuff out before Halloween is a bit extreme in my opinion. However this year I am already getting pumped for Christmas. Its most likely because this will be my husband and I's first Christmas together - I am looking forward to new memories and new traditions.

GREEK YOGURT
Final thing I have been loving this week is greek yogurt. Its so good, I eat it at least once a day. One of my goals for October was to eat more protein & greek yogurt is packed with protein so it is a tasty snack that is helping me achieve my goal! Also you can see my love for my red polka dotted spoon.

What is your favorite kind of weather?
Are you excited for the holidays or do you feel they are rushed?

Friday Favorites

Wait, it's Friday again? This week has gone by fast! All week I have been a day behind; Tuesday I thought it was Monday, Wednesday I thought it was Tuesday... So this weekend has really snuck up on me, not that I'm complaining. I hope everyone had a good week and has an even better weekend. My week has been pretty relaxed since my illnesses have been acting up a bit and requiring me to rest. Now on to what I have been loving this week and some of my favorites things!

FOOTBALL

Yay, NFL season is back!  I am a huge cardinals fan. I wasn't very into preseason this year & I thought I was broken but the first official season game was Sunday and I enjoyed every minute of it!

WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Does this make me sound old? I really am an old soul, I get along great with generations older than me because I have more in common with them than a lot of people my age. My whole family has been watching this show lately. We get so into and pause it to try and figure out the puzzles before the contestants.

ARM WORKOUTS
I am 100% a leg girl. I love working out my legs. I feel I can build muscle easier in my legs than my arms. Plus before I became ill, I was a dancer and cheeerleader so I built leg muscle from leaps, kicks, and jumps. Sadly I lost a lot of muscle when I became ill and had to spend most hours in bed. Since I have started to build muscle I look forward to leg day and dread arm day! However this week I have been looking forward to arm days more than leg days. Above is my workout from Wednesday.

QUOTE
This is my favorite quote this week. It is so easy to get discouraged on your fitness/health journey. Our mind tells us that we will never be able to be as healthy or fit or strong as others, but you can't let that stop you. You have to keep trying every single day, do your best & make an effort to improve.

FUNNY
This is so me. I am not a fan of shaving my legs and it just isn't all that easy with my chronic illnesses. However, while it is pumpkin spice galore, where I live it is still in the upper 90's everyday so I can not bust out the leggings and boots yet. Boo!

Does it feel like fall where you live?
What is your favorite body part to workout? What is your least?
Do you watch NFL?

Friday Favorites #3

It's Friday again, yay!!  I don't know about you, but this week went by quick for me. Probably because of the long weekend. Now without further ado, here is what I have been loving this week.

YOUTUBE
I have been on a YouTube kick. Don't get me wrong, I am still loving Netflix but my time has been split between the two lately. I watch a lot of fitness vlogs to give me workout ideas & inspire me to keep training. My current favorites are Lynette Marie and Robin Gallant.

LENNY & LARRY's

I saw quite a few people posting pictures and talking about this brand on Instagram so my fiance & I picked up some of their products while out running errands. It was the best and worst decision we made. We are hooked. They are delicious and have protein added to them!
The brownies are great, how can you go wrong with a combo of chocolate and protein? I like chopping it up and putting it on my oatmeal.
The cookies are also very good (and vegan!).
My fiance and I both favor the double chocolate chip cookie (I think we have a chocolate problem). I can't wait to try some of the other flavors that Lenny & Larry's has to offer.

WORKOUTS
I am really enjoying my workouts lately. I can feel myself getting stronger. I still have rough days where I feel like I'm making no progress but I am reminding myself that this is a journey. Yes, I have goals and I am working everyday to achieve them but I am working on not getting overly caught up in the end result. We live in the here and now, it's important to enjoy today, enjoy the process, enjoy the burn, and enjoy the sweat and satisfaction of a good workout.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!
Hope everyone had a good week.

Today is the day I share with all of you what I have been loving this week. I encourage you to comment what you have been loving as well.
***
I will start off with something delicious.
Fresh Peaches.
I can't get enough of them this week.

***
Secondly, Psych. Psych, Psych, so much Psych.
This show is on Netflix & I can't stop watching it.
I love playing it while I workout (and every other time of the day).

***
Funny of the Week

Right?! Like 'serving size = half cookie', I don't think so.
***
Lastly, I am currently loving my diet/nutrition plan.
I have been counting macros the past few weeks & so far I feel it is working for me.
I plan to write a post on my diet & why I chose to count macros.

Friday Fail

No thank you, never again.
I had high expectations for this bar. The stats are great and it has a simple ingredient list with no sugar alcohol (which is a huge plus to me), but sadly, it just didn't deliver. The flavor was weird and it tasted nothing like chocolate chip cookie dough in my opinion.

What have you been loving this week? Do you have a show on Netflix you can't stop watching?

Friday Favorites: Blend and Go

Moving into your first apartment is overwhelming! Since this is both mine and my fiance's first apartment we don't have much of our own household stuff. We have been slowly accumulating stuff over the last few months in hopes that when we move into our place we will have everything we need. One thing that was on our list was a blender so my fiance grabbed the Oster Blend N Go when he was at our local grocery store a few months ago. I absolutely love it! It reminds me of the magic bullet. My mom has seen me use it quite a few times and decided to pick herself up one as well, throwing away her magic bullet set that was on its last leg.

I promise you this is not an ad or sponsored post.
I just think this is a great product that I had never seen or heard of until my fiance purchased it. It comes in a ton of fun colors. We chose red because it matches our theme! If you are into nutrition or fitness I have a feeling you will like this little blender.

It comes with a base (the blender) and a bottle with two different 'lids'. One lid is the drinking lid and the other is a blade 'lid'. Once you fill up the bottle with your smoothie ingredients you screw on the blade lid and then place the lid in the top of the blender when you push down the blade starts spinning. It is a quick process and I find all the pieces easy to clean which is a must have for me. I don't like having kitchen appliances that I rarely use because I dread the cleaning process (I'm looking at your waffle iron). It is also pretty compact in size so it doesn't take up too much storage space.

Personally I use my Blend n Go to make protein shakes before or after my workouts. It could also be used for fruit smoothies and iced coffee drinks. The bottle can even be used just to hold water throughout the day as well.

Do you make smoothies or protein shakes often? Do you have a favorite on the go style blender?
